03 / Rules Worth Knowing

Four Rules That Catch People Out

The Cycle Is Fixed

Every CPD cycle runs from 1 January to 31 December, aligned with your registration validity period.

No Mixing of Categories

Hours completed in one category cannot substitute for requirements in another. You need all three minimums.

New RESs Get One Cycle’s Grace

New RESs are exempted in their first CPD cycle, and must comply from their second cycle onwards.

SDL Needs Your KEO’s Sign-Off

Your KEO assesses the relevance of Self-directed Learning activities and approves them in the CPD System.
