CPD guide 2026

CEA CPD Courses for Real Estate Salespersons (2026)

Every registered real estate salesperson (RES) in Singapore must complete at least 16 CPD training hours in each CPD cycle to renew their registration. Here is what counts in 2026, and how to choose a CPD course provider.

What CEA requires

The 2026 CPD requirement: 16 hours a cycle

Under CEA's CPD framework, each CPD cycle runs from 1 January to 31 December. To renew your registration you need at least:

4Prescribed Essentials (PE)Structured Learning. The 2026 topic is Prevention of Money Laundering, Proliferation Financing and Terrorism Financing.
8Professional Competencies (PC)Structured Learning: laws and regulations, property markets and other real estate knowledge.
4Self-directed Learning (SDL)Includes Generic Competencies Plus (GC Plus). Your KEO must approve the course attendance.

Hours in one category cannot be counted towards another. New salespersons are exempt in their first CPD cycle and must comply from their second cycle.

Choosing a provider

How to choose a CPD course provider

  • A CEA course code. Structured Learning courses carry a course code (ours start with CRS, for example CRS-260195), so you can match the course in CPDS.
  • Attendance uploaded for you. The provider uploads your Structured Learning attendance to CPDS. We do this within 3 working days of the class.
  • Clear attendance rules. For live online classes, keep your camera on throughout and do not miss more than 15 minutes in total. A good provider tells you this before the class, not after.
  • A time that fits your work. We run weekend afternoon classes (1pm to 5pm) and weekday night classes (7pm to 11pm), live on Zoom.
  • A trainer with a track record. Our trainer Martin Koh holds a 4.7 out of 5 rating from more than 8,000 learner responses across 38 past CPD sessions.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How many CPD hours do I need in 2026?

At least 16 training hours in each CPD cycle (1 January to 31 December): at least 12 hours of Structured Learning, made up of at least 4 hours of Prescribed Essentials (PE) and at least 8 hours of Professional Competencies (PC), plus at least 4 hours of Self-directed Learning (SDL). Hours in one category cannot be counted towards another.

Do live Zoom CPD courses count?

Yes, when you attend the whole live class. Keep your camera on with your face visible throughout and do not miss more than 15 minutes in total, including late arrival and time away. Our team uploads your Structured Learning attendance to CEA's CPD System (CPDS) within 3 working days.

What is the 2026 Prescribed Essentials topic?

For 2026 the PE topic is Prevention of Money Laundering, Proliferation Financing and Terrorism Financing. Our Real Estate AML Compliance course is a PE course.

I left the industry. Can I attend to make up my hours?

Yes. If your registration lapsed up to two years ago, CEA requires you to complete the 16 training hours as if you were still registered before you apply again. If it lapsed more than two years ago, you must pass the RES examination instead.

How much does a CPD course cost at AsianPrime Capital?

Each live 4-hour class is S$100, paid by PayNow or bank transfer.
